A-Life Medical Introduces Alacer™, the Industry’s First Billing System
with Real Time NLP Coding and Patent Pending Automated Audit Tools

The Alacer practice management system, built on the IMAGINEradiology™ billing platform, is the industry’s first billing software to integrate real time NLP coding. In addition to the full functionality of the IMAGINEradiology billing system, Alacer offers the patented A-Life Medical  LifeCode® NLP coding engine, a fully integrated Actus® coding workstation, and a patent pending automated Audit Management module designed to optimize reimbursement, productivity, and compliance.

LifeCode, recognized as the industry’s most sophisticated NLP coding engine, now enables real time coding for interventional medicine and radiology within the Alacer practice management system. In addition, A-Life Medical’s LifeCode engine will automatically assign the CMS Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) quality measures beginning July 1, 2007. The PQRI establishes a financial incentive for eligible professionals to participate in a voluntary quality reporting program.

The fully integrated Actus coding workstation routes documents to customized queues to optimize workflow and improve coder productivity. The Audit Management module automatically selects statistically relevant physician reports with assigned codes, billed charges, and payments received to facilitate compliance programs. Further, the Audit Management module calculates scores and generates reports on audit results, and can be used to audit coders, physicians, modalities, payers, and denials.

In addition to providing the most sophisticated real time NLP coding engine and auditing tools, the Alacer practice management system is built upon the industry’s recognized IMAGINEradiology billing system which includes document management, billing administration, collections management, and comprehensive reporting to optimize reimbursement and streamline the entire code to collection process.
